$3.3 Million Financial Aid Gift to Lead $10 Million Effort for Financial Aid

The school was founded through the unparalleled generosity of five Loomis siblings.  Bereft of heirs, the siblings pooled their respective estates to found The Loomis Institute, determined to provide an education to deserving boys and girls for generations to come.  The generosity of the Loomis siblings has been emulated by scores of alumni, parents and friends in the nearly 100 years since the school opened. All contributions to the school enhance and enrich the experience of today’s students and their teachers and help to ensure the strength of the school for years to come.  

There are a number of ways to contribute to Loomis Chaffee. Each means provides important and necessary support to the school and helps with its mission to advance the development in spirit, mind and body of boys and girls drawn from diverse cultural and social backgrounds and to inspire in them a commitment to the best self and the common good.

The Annual Fund
The Loomis Chaffee Annual Fund is a yearly fundraising campaign that provides direct and unrestricted support to the school's operating budget. The Annual Fund accounts for approximately 7% of the school's annual operating budget.

Capital Giving
Over and above operational support through annual giving, capital gifts are used to support and enhance all aspects of the school, including teaching funds, scholarships, and campus facilities and improvements.

Gift Planning
From charitable gift annuities to charitable remainder trusts to inclusion in estate plans, the generosity of the Loomis Chaffee community through gift planning is essential to the future health of the school.
