Michelle Winkler '08 has been honored with selection to the 2009-10 National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA) All-American Scholar team as announced by the NGCA. Michelle is a sport management major at Xavier University where she is also a member of the Xavier University women's golf team and honored with the prestigious accolade.

 

Loomis Chaffee Alumna Jennifer Chung '08 was recently named Scholar All-American by Swim Coaches Association.

For Cody Rosen ’08, June 26 started out like any other Saturday in the summer. The Clarkson University hockey player, who recently completed his freshman year, was sitting around the house watching World Cup soccer on television. However, what happened next was an unexpected surprise for the young goaltender from Ontario, Canada.

Loomis Chaffee junior Liana Hinds, playing in the FIFA World Cup Under 17 Women's Tournament in Trinidad, helped her country win its first ever World Cup soccer match when she scored the second goal in their 2-1 victory over Chile.

It’s a silver medal for senior Steven Michalek, one of the star players for the U.S. Under-18 Select Team at the Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament in the Czech Republic and Slovakia August 9-14.

In honor of the 2010 season ESPN RISE has released its list of the ALL-RISE team for girls lacrosse. This team consists of a First, Second and Honorable Mention team. Two Loomis Chaffee Athletes were recently selected as Connecticut Honorable Mention athletes, Kate McCarthy '10 and Alexandra Crerend '11.

Ireland's national under-18 girls basketball team landed on the Island on Saturday. First on their to-do list was a training session with Loomis Chaffee girls basketball coach and strength and conditioning coach Adrian Stewart '90.

Loomis Chaffee will host four internationally acclaimed teams this month, including the men's and women's Irish national U-18 basketball teams, the U.S. women’s national soccer team, and the Swedish women's soccer team.

Rising junior Samantha Pierce was recently named by the National Interscholastic Swimming Coaches Assocation as an All-American in swimming for her prowess in the 200-yard freestyle. Samantha’s time of 1:51.61 was the 106th-fastest time in the nation this year.
